I once had an iBook G3 500Mhz, dual usb. But I sold it… That was a bad idea, I loved that machine, so I wanted to have an Macintosh again for a long time. Since I haven’t been on vacation this year I bought myself a new Mac. Well, a secondhand, not completly new. This time it became a Powerbook G4 1,33 Ghz also 12″ again. Those 12″ Mac’s are the best: nice and compact. I already upgraded the harddrive from 60 Gb to 120 Gb. I actually had to do that, because the original hdd was broken. I will also upgrade the Superdrive, so it will be able to read DVD DL’s. It needs to do that, because I want to install Leopard.
I’ve tried several ways to install it, but I can’t get it to work. It seems that this Powerbook can only boot from Firewire and I do not want to buy an external Firewire driver especially for this ocassion, because I will then never use it again. I want to have everything internal on my Windows PC. I’ve also tried to mound the image via my iPod (I can connect that trough Firewire), but that didn’t succes eighter. I copied the .dmg file to the desktop on the Powerbook, but it stopts copying after 3,16 Gb. It also does that with another external HDD. Kindda weird.
Well… can’t wait to receive the new Superdrive. If that doesn’t work I will go and buy a retail Leopard version. They are not that expensive: 120 euro’s. Much cheaper that Windows XP or Vista. Another plus for Apple!
I also got an update on the car: MR2 rims and I’m waiting for another update: Morrette headlights. Those aren’t cheap, but eBay is your friend when it comes to bargains. They are gold colored now, so they need a blue re-spray. And offcourse they need to be mounted. I’m still curious how that’s going to work, cuz my standard lights are H4 and these Morrette H7. I shall shoot some new photo’s of the car when these updates are all fitted.
Gotta go now… I need to be awake for the X-files more I’m going to watch tomorrow…eh.. today. It’s past twelve, so it’s Thursday already, but the movie doesn’t start till 7 pm. Oh.. and another good movie tip: Batman!! The new Batman is awsome!! Especially the actor playing The Joker is super!! It’s really sad that he died.
